I Can't Believe This is My Life!

The sun is rising and I can feel the warmth of the day on my skin. The wind as I ride the motorbike brings a slight chill early in the morning. I can smell the incense burning as business owners make their daily offerings. Everywhere I look it’s beautiful. Locals are preparing for the day, the dogs are barking at the motorbikes, and I’m going straight to the ocean for surfing!
We have been in Bali for three weeks now. I have been surfing regularly, had a massage, learned to drive a motorbike, had a Kundalini session, attended a Bali ceremony, ate amazing food, spent time with my Bali family and I can feel my soul relaxing into Bali.
I feel so alive in Bali. I think the coffee is smoother and the fruit is sweeter. I notice the birds singing and the gecko calling. I literally stop to smell the flowers because they are divine! I love the smell of the incense in the offerings burning. The weather is warm and hugs me like a big blanket on a cold day. But it’s only cold if you turn the air conditioner to low! You can feel the energy and history the entire island holds. There is indeed something magical about Bali and I cherish it because it feels so…right. So peaceful.
Of course, everything hasn’t been easy. Based on the bites across my body, I think the mosquitoes are from the Jurassic times and who knew it would be so hard to get a local working SIM for my phone. But nothing in life is always easy. I truly believe it’s all about how you handle the challenges. I like to have a personal, quiet, meltdown, and then conquer the world. I have some truly special friends here that are willing to help us out and it has been such a blessing.
As I sit by the pool or take a Gojek home after my surf lesson, I can’t help but smile like an idiot. I want to soak up every moment, sensation, and memory. I can’t believe this is my life.
